Winstons Kitchen Department Opens

Winstons Kilkenny is a 25,000 sq ft. landmark retail store in the heart of Kilkenny City. A family run retail business established in 1984, it has always aimed to bring fashion and interiors to Kilkenny City. The store has recently undergone extensive renovation and extension decision to bring this retail landmark forward into the 21st Century.
The fit-out began with a shell that as the extension involved the addition of the building’s 4th Floor. The 4th floor has a direct view of Kilkenny castle and so all units were designed to line up with the walls in order to integrate the view with the store’s interior. Beech cornice detail was fitted throughout the department to compliment the beech slatwall units.
Feature walls were installed using beech slatwall units with cream groves and 10mm glass shelves to display glassware. A 15 m welsh dresser wall was installed to display crockery, this was manufactured with integrated iron rods into shelves to provide deflection of the shelves for the weight of the crockery.
Lockable glass units with aluminium finished board were installed in order to display the knives, pots and pans. The units for the pots and pans had mounted chrome grids installed in order to allow for the extra weight.
ALD Fit-out also designed, manufactured and fitted all the counters, POS units and table displays throughout the department. The bespoke counter was manufactured with a Hanex solid surface worktop.
Due to ALD’s effective project management the fit-out on site was completed in 4 days, ready to be merchandised ahead of the grand re-opening.
